Exploreum: Gamified Visits

Exploreum turns a place into a game that only its visitors can play.

A museum, a town, an open-air cinema: we write an illustrated story around the venue and its objects, add challenges to solve on the spot, and lock the whole thing behind a QR code on the venue's own signage. Families scan, play as they visit, and keep the experience forever. Nobody plays it from their sofa.

What a visitor gets. Story pages with optional narration, challenges built for the place (quizzes, estimations, sorting, picture riddles, a spot to triangulate on the map), and guided trails with numbered stops, each with its own QR code. Finishing an experience earns a badge, answering a question each day keeps a streak alive. The app runs on iPhone, Android and the web, in French, English and German, with no account required.

What a venue gets. Its own colours, logo and name on every screen. A partner page in the app that gathers all its experiences. Printed QR codes that can be re-pointed later without reprinting. A dashboard with codes scanned, games finished, visitor ratings and the exact step where attention drops off: the figures that boards and funders ask for. Event ticketing, free or paid, is built in.

The model. Venues pay a fixed price per experience per year, everything included: writing, illustrations, hosting, QR codes, dashboard, updates and support. Their visitors pay nothing and see no ads. Exploreum's own premium experiences are free to try, then a single payment unlocks the rest; one person pays and shares a group code, companions join for free.

Under the hood. Flutter app (iOS, Android, web), Firebase backend, Next.js partner portal where venues edit their experiences, print their codes and read their analytics. Scenarios are data, so one experience can be written once and translated without touching the app. Narration is generated per language; artwork is painted from real photographs of each place.

First experiences. An earthquake trail through Visp with the CPPS (Centre pédagogique prévention séismes), a walk through La Londe-les-Maures, a premium adventure in Mouans-Sartoux, and a mountain-top story for an open-air cinema above Nice.
